FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the most common questions we get from guests. If you don’t see your answer here, feel free to contact us — we’re happy to help!”

Q: How can I trust this site and feel safe sending a deposit to reserve the studio?

A:  We completely understand — trust is important. Casa Mystic is personally managed, and I live part-time in Tulum. You’ll only be asked for a deposit after we confirm your booking.
All payments go through secure platforms like PayPal, and I’m happy to share more details or arrange a video call for peace of mind.

Q: Why do you only allow 2 weeks stays? I only have one week of vacation — can I still book the studio?

A: Our focus is on offering longer stays for guests who want to truly settle in and experience the real Tulum. We believe it takes more than a short vacation to connect with Tulum — and that’s why our studios are designed for bi-weekly stays.

That said, if you’re looking for a shorter stay, we’d be happy to help you connect with other owners in the same complex who offer short-term vacation rentals.

Q: Is it safe to live there?

A: Yes — Our Tulum studios are  located in a quiet, residential jungle area of Tulum with secure entry, smart door locks, and 24-hour security. It’s part of a new, secluded development, so there aren’t other complexes, restaurants, or bars immediately nearby — which adds to the peaceful atmosphere.
Most places like restaurants, shops, and beach access are a short bike or scooter ride away, but that’s what helps keep the area quiet and safe for guests looking to relax.

Q: How’s the internet? Is it reliable? I heard Tulum loses power during rainy season — is that true?

A: The studio has fast 100 Mbps fiber optic internet, so it’s great for working, streaming, or staying connected.

That said, like most of Tulum, short power outages can happen during rainy season — it’s pretty normal here. During hurricane season, if there’s a big storm, outages can sometimes last longer.
For remote workers, there are plenty of great co-working spaces in town with backup power, so you’ll always have a reliable spot to work if needed.

Q: Do you have any house rules?

A:  Yes — we keep things simple to ensure everyone enjoys a peaceful stay:
✔ No smoking inside the apartment or garden area
✔ No parties or loud noise in the evenings
✔ Any damage caused during your stay will be deducted from the security deposit

We ask all guests to respect the space, the neighbors, and the calm atmosphere of the property.

The deposit holds your dates also act as a security deposit, will return full amount after check out  when there is no damage .

Q:  How do I pay the deposit? Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

A: We use PayPal or WISE for deposits — it’s safe, simple, and works internationally.
If you change your mind within 24 hours of sending the deposit, we’ll refund it in full. After 24 hours, the deposit becomes non-refundable, as it holds your dates and takes the studio off the market.

A: Tulum is pretty spread out, so having your own transportation makes life much easier. The best option is to rent a scooter — it’s affordable, fun, and perfect for getting around. Many people also get around by bike, especially for short trips.

There’s no Uber in Tulum, but the InDrive app works similarly, and you can negotiate the price with the driver.

The nearest supermarket is about 4.3 km away, and the closest beach is around an 11-minute bike ride from the studio.
